PDF Editing Mixed Style Text Boxes

Here is a simple tutorial on how to edit text boxes with multiple fonts/styles in them in a Digiluxe PDF template.

Once you have installed the newest version of Adobe Reader and downloaded your template from your Etsy Purchases Tab — begin with step one.

  1. Open Adobe Reader!
  2. Click FILE > OPEN and navigate to the template you saved and then CLICK > OPEN.

Sometimes it is necessary to include multiple styles or multiple typefaces in one text box to add interest. Editing this type is very similar to editing a full line of type, but in order to keep the hidden formatting in place, these lines need to be changed one style or typeface at a time.

Instead of selecting and highlighting ALL of the type in a text box or row, select only the single style. In this example, you can see that there is a larger type style at the top of the box and then smaller type in the same box right below it. Highlight and change the groups of type individually. If you highlight ALL of the type at once, the formatting from the top lines of type will be copied over to all of the type.

You can see here that I changed only the larger type. The smaller type within the box would be highlighted and changed separately.

The same principal applies when there is  two different typefaces or sizes with the same line. You can see CENTER TEXT above and below I have edited only those words to read MY TYPE. Then I will edit the word EDIT individually and then the word ONLY individually by highlighting one word at a time.

Repeat the steps above for all of the mixed type layers that are editable text within your purchased template.

Thank you for your business!
